KZ750E Dynatek ignition wiring was created by Logan120
Need help. I can’t seem to find an answer in previous threads. I’m trying to wire a new Dynatek ds2-2 into my ‘81 KZ750E.
I’ve pulled the old one all the way to the connector shown in pics. I’m unsure how to proceed in connection. Do I bypass the igniter and go straight into the coils or do I splice into the connector.
Wiring is by far my weak point and I don’t wanna mess it up.
thank you

The Dyna-S is designed to connect directly to the coils. You need to remove the factory ignitor box is you're using the Dyna-S. Did the kit not come with instructions? There is a wiring diagram with the instructions.
Edit: pdf download for the manual.

Also, why are you removing the stock ignition? The Dyna-S was really intended as an upgrade for bikes that originally came with points. The factory electronic ignition seems to be considered as good or better than the Dyna-S.

DOHC, if it's wired directly to the coils there will be no advance capability will there? I thought that was one of the ignitors functions. It's been a while since I've messed with an engine with an ignitor ignition.

Dyna-S requires a mechanical advance unit, which the early 750/4 has.

You have to fit the old style mechanical advancer with Dyna SDOHC, if it's wired directly to the coils there will be no advance capability will there? I thought that was one of the ignitors functions. It's been a while since I've messed with an engine with an ignitor ignition.
