Is anyone aware of a super early advance unit? Just going thru some containers and ran across an advance base that caught my eye. Wider plate but the HH manufacture stamp and different location of lines for TDC and F. It fits on the crank so.... maybe a Honda CB or.....

There were two advancers used over the Z1 series. Up to about S/N 33000 it was 5 deg at idle and 40 deg fully advanced. (I forget when it hits max, but about 3500 rpm) The replacement was 20 deg at idle and 40 deg fully advanced. From the photos it looks like you have the early one on the left and the later one on the right.

Are the aluminum nuts the same size? The originals were 19 mm. Replacements were 17 mm.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Yes HR i knew about those , just wondering about "maybe" another one was kicking around that preceded those. Aluminum? Nothing on any advancer was aluminum. I know what You are referring to though.

Steel. The only other material used was a coated brass coated sleeve that is indide the portion where the retaining bolt slides thru and the little rubber slugs on the weights. Honestly i've never encountered a 19mm nut as pictured? Only the 17mm, maybe a Honda or Suzuki, they used a lot of same manufactures for advances of the day?

Just for the files, if it hasn't already been written. Photos. Note that this of the 005 Advance or 2nd Gen. Note the milled and/or pressed brass insert and of course the rubber bumpers for the weights,
