I'm installing a ignition coil on my kz400 ltd. One of these blue wires goes into the coil. According to the wiring diagram it looks as if it's the wire coming directly from the contact breaker points , but on other bikes I've had it would make sense that it would be the blue wire in the photo coming from the wiring harness. Who can help me out?

The wire from the points goes to the negative side of the coil, a brown wire which is switched 12 volts is connected to the positive terminal on the coil. Not sure but I think the blue wire under the tank in your second picture is possibly the front brake switch wire.

Mike is correct. Here is the Schematic I found. You will have to make sure you use the correct blue wire
