Hi all
I am from Switerzland and driving a Z1100ST. Suddenly I have no ignition anymore, on none of the 4 cylinders. Question: what is the part in the picture for? It is in-between the electronically ignition (Dyna S) and the ignition coils, and there is only one sign "1A30" on it, nothing else. Could it be that this part is defect and could that be the reason?

Hi. There isn't a picture visible but there shouldn't be anything between the Dyna S and the coils .
However your 1100 would have had a factory electronic ignition with 2.2 ohm coils and the Dyna needs 3 ohm coils so the component may be a resistor if the original coils are still present.

Yes i think still the original coils; could it be that:
- just the register 30A is damaged, to be replaced simply
- or due to damaged register coils and ignition damaged as well, everything to be replaced, new ignition dynas includind dynas coils?
- is there an alternativ to dynatec?

If the coils are less then 3 ohm they probably caused the Dyna to fail.
I personally think the Dyna is the best aftermarket ignition and have used them in all my Zeds for years.
If it were me i would fit 3 to 5 ohm coils first , wire without the 1A30 part and see if you have spark.
If no spark then replace the Dyna 'S' also.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration5 Ohm coils? Original there are 4 Ohm isn’t it? So you would not recommend me e.g. the following kit with 2.2 Ohm coils?

NO! That seller is wrong.
Dyna 'S' must use 3 to 5 ohm coils ( Dyna 2000 can use 2.2 )
If yours are 4 ohm and functional then they will work with the Dyna but the Dyna coils will produce a stronger spark.

I'm in UK and usually buy from UK sellers but i always type in cheapest first on Ebay and go from there.
Sometimes there is a deal on elsewhere in another country even with customs but you have to check.
It's usually cheaper to buy as a set.
If you want a UK recommendation then GRUMPY 1260 or Suzuki Performance Spares on EBAY are usually the cheapest for UK but you may find someone nearer for you which is cheaper.

If you are in the USA you can buy Dyna coils from Z1 Enterprises or Z1 Parts. You want the green ones. If you need a Dyna S ignition you can get it from those suppliers also, or go to Dyna tech themselves. I just finished doing the same thing to my 1980 KZ1000.

When I look for pieces for my Z1 900 A2, it is easy to find almost everyting in Germany from German dealers. For my Z1100ST, it is not so ease, as it is and was rare in Europe. I check these suppliers; I would prefer a kit yes, with coils and ignition, if you see or know one on the internet, I would appreciate your tip

with my Z1 I had a Dinas, and it crashed after some years, maybe because of the combination with the original coils. No I have built in an Accent ignition, and it works fine.
