Right side switch/starter button housing pictured. Does this protrusion have some electrical significance? Does it ground the circuit? If so I worry my new black handlebar may cause issues here.

That indexes the twist grip to the handle bar. There is a corresponding hole drilled in the bars. It keeps the hand control from rotating. No electrical function.
