Does yellow wire orientation matter from stator to rectifier? 78 kz650 black to ground red white to battery. Rewiring the entire bike plugs long gone. Also should I fuse the positive lead to the battery? Doesnt appear to be from the factory.

All wires off of stator are yellow and wired inline for AC current out. I am going by Z1/KZ. Sure others are same.
Funny thing! I am an old Shovelhead HD Guy. And in the Older HD Factory Manuals, the test for the stator says unplug wires coming out of engine case. Then hook up a 50-75 watt 120v light bulb, run engine and test the wires from the stator. If the light bulb works. You know the stator is working and producing AC power.
