Hi all,

I’m trying to diagnose a no power issue.

I had no cluster lights or headlamp upon putting the battery back into the bike and the ignition on. No obvious signs of life anywhere on the bike.

I have the required 12 volts at the 6 pin connector that supplies the ignition switch. This suggests to me that power is getting up to here, so it’s not the main fuse. I tested for continuity between the pigtail and the instrument cluster’s soldered connectors and it’s OK there.

Over the winter, I painted the upper triple clamp — could this be preventing everything from making the correct ground for everything to work?

I’m at a loss here - any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Zach

Not sure what all you are saying. It sounds like you have power to the keyed switch, but only continuity after it. Which sounds like the switch is the issue.
