Charging help please

Hi guys,

Hope you´re all ok in these scary Covid 19 times.

So my KZ1000 is suddenly not charging the battery.

The stator measures Ok both ohm-wise and AC output wise when running, and the bike runs great after a run-start or battery charged,
The rectifier/regulator measures ok ohm-wise too. And the gel battery is good as well, when using a charger it charges ok and keeps voltage
to 13V/24h.

The starter engine runs great with the battery charged, so there is no cut in +/- *from it*. I´m thinking it must be in the wiring?
And where would you start looking/measuring?

Greatful for any good ideas on this.

What voltage is at the battery at idle? What is it at 3,000 rpm?

Just took the stator out today and I guess it is totally burnt? see attached photo...

I don't know if that stator is normal. Is your generator dry or wet? Some models get wet with oil, since there isn't a seal on the end of the crankshaft & there's a hole for the oil to drain back down into the engine. My 81 KZ650 is dry & there's a crankshaft seal.

Did you load test the battery?

...or you said the 'The stator measures Ok both ohm-wise and AC output wise when running'.....how did your measure that, and what were the readings?????

.....and what was the voltage output of the R/R when running?
