No Power To Starter

Hey, first time on this forum. Rebuilding a 1980 kz750 LTD and can’t get power to the starter. I don’t even get a “click” when I attempt to start. Good battery (13.5 volts), headlights turn on, neutral light, oil light, and fuel light come on as usual but won’t crank. Ran last week before I added a new clutch cable. Fuses appear to be good. At a loss of where to start. I appreciate any help.

By the way, is this a four cylinder or a twin? I beleive Kawasaki sold both in 1980.

There should be a switch on the clutch lever for a "starter lockout". See if maybe the wires or switch came unplugged during the clutch-cable replacement.
