Hey I've got an 82 Spectre, when I try to start the bike (hasn't run in years) nothing happens. No engine turn, no noise, no drop in battery voltage; nothing. There are two unconnected wires which are in the picture I've attached. Could these be the culprit? And which male to which female?

Thanks very much,
Ty

I fixed your picture . Hit Insert next time

Yes! those male and female green, blue ,yellow .black spade wires need connecting,
They are the low tension 12v feed to the solenoid from the starter button.
They should work connected either way.

Great, I've connected those wires and now get a single click from the solenoid when I press the engine start button. Should I bridge the solenoid with a screwdriver to see if I can get the starter to turn?

You mentioned that the bike has not run for a while: are you sure the engine isn't now stuck from sitting?

It is also possible that the starter itself is stuck.

An easy way to test if the engine is stuck is to try to push start the bike. If the engine turns over it's not stuck. Ed
