1979 KZ 650 d2 SR

I have a new to me 1979 KZ 650 d2 sr with a broken ignition switch. I figured no big deal I ordered a new one it comes with a 6 pin connection take my headlight bucket apart to get to mine it has a 6 pin connection with a 7th brown wire that connects individually question is can I make the new switch work and how??

I don't have the manual for your bike but on similar KZ's the brown wire is for the brake light circuit so you need it.

Thanks that’s the same diagram in my owners manual I hooked up the new switch and none of my tree indicator lights lit I cut the 7th brown wire off the other switch plugged it into the harness and held it to the green orange wire termination on the switch and all the lights lit and switched off and on with the switch not sure about the brake lights as the brake switch is broken and the headlight didn’t lite although the bulb may be blown and I broke my multi meter as it fell off the fender while I was holding 10 things in my hands ☹️
