Summer is here and I'm trying to finish my 1981 GPz550. Right now I am putting the new Kawi coils on it and forgot to take a pic when I took the old ones off. Does anyone know which side of each coil connection in front is power and which is ground? I THINK on both sides and both coils power (red/yellow wire) is on the outside and ground is inside. Is this correct? Kawi manual is kind of ambiguous. Any suggestions?

Even though the factory coils have + and - labels, it really doesn't matter.

If you still have factory coils you can see a + and - mark on them if you want to stick with their markings.

Yes, the markings are kind of small & on the 81 650 they're facing inward, so a guy wouldn't see them without removing the coils.

From the 1981 KZ650 FSM.
