Hi everyone. New to forum and would like some advise. I'd bought a dyna s and 3 ohm coils as a replacement ignition. It was installed correctly, however, it seems to have a bad 2/3 module. Does that mean I'd have to buy another Dyna S unit, or does Dynatek sell individual modules for situations such as this? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!!

I can't remember if there is a warranty, but I recall some owners sent them their Dyna S to be tested and they just sent them a new one, or one with a replaced module on it... no cost. That's pretty good. Hopefully they still do that. If you've had it for awhile maybe they can sell you just one module.

Have you tested the module by swapping wires to drive opposite coils? That's an easy way to confirm the module.

Also, as you might be aware, the modules on the Dyna S have changed over the years, so if you replace the module yourself, make sure it's wired correctly. They are not all wired the same as far as the physical location of the wire relative to what the wire does. There are only two wires on each module, but the wires are swapped on some modules depending on when they were made etc. So some modules have the red wires going to the inner wire, and some have it to the outer wire. The differences are found on the taller old-style modules. Some are one way, and some are the other. The newer, flatter modules (with blue stickers) seem to have the all the same wiring with red wires to the inner wire.

Hi loudvx! Thanks! Yes, this was a brand new unit. I'd disconnected the GRN wire from 2/3 coil, connected the BLK from 1/4 to decipher if it was the coil or module, or to see if maybe it was just a bad wire. Confirmed it was the module. I'd sent an e-mail to Dynatek, however, haven't received any response as of yet. Also, these apparently are the newer style w/ blue sticker on 2/3 module. Suppose I'll have to wait to see what Dynatek says. Thanks again!

UPDATE!! Emailed Dynatek about the issue, they were very cool about it. Ignition plate is now enroute to Dynatek, they are gonna send me back a plate with 2 modules that work.

Much appreciated. .............Regards, Gary
