This is my first attempt at refurbishing a meter & I need to remove the trip reset knob. While turning, there would be some resistance, then the resistance would change to a smooth notchy feel, then repeat. kind of hard to explain. Thanks. The knob does unscrew backwards in the opposite direction as resetting the trip meter:
The speedometer has to be separated first >> then use pliers to hold the shaft while unscrewing the knob.
