wiring to the coils was created by KZ802
Hi All,
I have a 1976 KZ900 A4. what is the color of the wiring to the coils, from left to right? It is something like black, yellow, green, yellow? I don't remember how I have it wired, I'm going off the top of my head. My bike was running very poorly. now won't start. I unplugged the coil wires while testing voltage to different points and don't remember what they were originally. I have the factory service manual and a clymer. I can't find anywhere that says how to wire the coils. Maybe it doesn't matter? I don;t see any marks on the coils to say which is the trigger wire....

Take a look at the KZ900-A4 wiring diagram in the link below. It looks like the coil for cylinders 1&4 have a red/yellow wire from the kill switch and a green wire from the points, and the coil for cylinders 2&3 have a red/yellow wire from the kill switch and a black wire from the points. Ed

Thank you Patton, that's what I was looking for. I could not find + or - symbols anywhere on the coils so I was hoping it didn't matter....
