KZ750 Spectre - Getting spark.....kinda... was created by 82KZ750Clifton
Hey everyone, new KZ750 owner here. Just picked it up about a month ago, and it has not ran for bout 5 years. Just put in a carb rebuild kit, and am ready to start it. The problem is, I have no spark to my spark plugs. I checked the spark plug wires with a multimeter, and I get voltage when turning the engine over, but the spark plugs will still not spark. Any ideas as to what that could be?

How many volts are you getting on the sparkplug lead?

When I press the starter, I get a range from 2.6 volts to 20 volts according to my multi meter. Every time I turn the motor over it changes voltages.

Weak battery (check acid level, refill distill water), R/R ,bad ground (battery negative to engine/frame). Check/clean your connectors plugs/wirings for short cut/bad isolation or a wrong routed plugged connector.
A lot of electric Gremlins can made a bad day.
