Aftermarket Engine/Cylinder Temperature Sensor - '81 GPz1100 was created by GPZ1100_Rider
I've been experiencing a rich running engine for a number of seasons. I researched the Bosch EFI systems, that were similar to the Kawasaki's of the same or approximate era. There were references to a rich condition on VWs, being caused by a bad cylinder head temperauture sensor. I looked into it. The sensor appears to be the same as what is on my '81 GPz1100, so I found two places that offered the "improved", aftermarket one. Settled on one place that offered good customer service (was helpful about my Kaw, non-auto application), service and didn't gouge on the shipping and handling cost, for a little part in a small bubble envelope.

I had to change the electrical connector that came on it to the proper male bullet connector. Installed it, fired up the bike, and I could tell just how it was running in the driveway, that I found the fix. 75 miles of riding on highways and in the city this weekend, confirmed it was the solution to the rich running problem that I was dealing with previously. Happy, happy!

OEM sensor part number, supposedly cross-references to the OEM sensor on '84-85 GPz750 Turbo. You'll need to verify though. Good luck.
