weak turn signals

Front and rear turn signals are weak, dim, and they flicker more so than blink. The electrical system is completely overhauled on the bike but the sigs were doing the same thing before the overhaul (custom wiring, new stator, new ignition, new coils, etc)

What's my first try? Could it be the relay? I haven't changed the bulbs yet either.

I had similar problems with the turn signals on my 1977 KZ650-C1. I replaced the turn signal relay with a Tridon/Stant 552 2 prong unit, and the problem was permanently solved. The Tridon/Stant unit was a perfect fit in the same rubber sleeve as the original relay; no muss / no fuss. Ed

Do you, by chance, have a Dyna S ignition?
If so, keep an eye on your battery voltage. That is, take note if the starter gets slow to crank etc.
