battery and starter cable routing was created by mnrenfro
would anyone be willing to provide some pics of their battery and starter cable routing? For some reason, when I try to install my left side cover, there is interference preventing it from seating properly. It's hard to tell what and where exactly the interference is occurring. My KZ400 is a 76 model so the battery is on the left side rather than centered in the frame, and the shop manual I have only shows earlier models where the battery is centered in the frame, A few pics of someone's bike in this area would be most appreciated!

Thanks,
Marshall

Hey Bud,

I have a 77 400, w the battery on the left side. I can take a picture later today and post it here so you can figure out your wiring. Its the same on my 81, but the 81 may have been routed differently. (I havent looked recently). If the rubber grommets are worn out (3 per side/per side cover), then nothing is gonna keep them on (like a speedbump or pothole). You can get replacement grommets on ebay or z1 or cmsnl fairly inexpensive. Ill post a picture later when I get to the shop.

Thanks a lot. The top two rubber pieces are new and the bottom rubber grommet is in tact. At this point I'm convinced it's my cable routing, but I'm hoping your pics will help me know the correct routing.
