Feeling a little simple here. I bought a new battery for this 76 KZ400 I picked up, but it interferes when I try to install the left side cover. Dimensions are correct from what I can tell (battery dimensions that is).
I bought an AGM battery that is of the same dimensions as what is called out in the service manual for this bike (12N12A-4A-1). As for the battery box, not sure if it is the stock one or not.
Just so you are aware, there were two size batteries for Kz400's back then. The S model did not have electric start so it used a smaller battery. The battery boxes were probably different too, but I'm not sure on that.
