Not sure what this is called

Doing my total restoration. Money spent on kid's car and job eliminating my position, Im actually getting it together. Putting the wiring harness on and and looking over all connections. This piece attaches to a small bracket that is mounted to the back of the coil. Looks very dried and cracked and was thinking of replacing. Not sure what it is actually called. Can you Brainiacs help me here? As you can see it is starting to come together.

Maybe a fuel check switch or outage indicator switch.

outage indicator switch = brake light failure indicator switch. The former term is used in the parts diagram for the 81 650-H1, but the latter is used in the wiring diagram.

Could examine the color wire diagram for the particular year and model.

Hey Patton. I just got an assembly manual from an ebayer yesterday. Big electrical schematic in it. I found it. Its the brake light failure indicator switch. Thank you so much for the advice. That's why I come here. Tom

It's a brake light failure switch

If while just cruising along without applying any brakes the dash brake light warning indicator is blinking, it's telling you that the rear brake light won't come on when the brakes are next applied.
