No Lights was created by JTTMF
Last night I was winging my way home on my 1983 KZ1000P, when my headlight went out. This happened before a few months ago but started working again, but not this time. Neither headlamp or rear lamp illuminate (although the rear illuminates if the parking light is turned on at the ignition). I've checked the bulbs and fuses and removed the handlebar switch and removed and cleaned the inside moving parts, but still nothing. What's going on????...........

A loose connector in the headlight bucket?
A poor ground connection?

Thanks for the reply. I thought I'd change the fuse in the light circuit and the bloody thing came to life!! The old fuse didn't look as though it'd blown. What a carry on!

Hi JTTMF,
Some of the old OEM fuses were assembled using solder to attach the fuse link to the end caps. We've seen OEM fuses that appear at a glance to be good, but when the end caps are examined a crack in the solder joint is apparent. We always test fuses with a meter regardless.
