I have a 1981 kz550 bobber with some sort of electrical problem. I keep losing power even though it has a very new battery. I can start it by jumping it but it wont turn back on without a jump. Most recently it died while I was riding it, and it wasnt a slow drain it just stopped. I was told it may be the stater but I dont know a lot about electrical systems.

A bad starter will not cause the engine to die, but a bad battery can. I recommend having the battery load tasted before diving into the electrical system.

A bad starter won't cause an engine to die, but a bad stator definitely will. The stator generates the electricity to run the engine and recharge the battery. You need to check your charging system. Follow the procedure in the manual.
