I got cheap and went with a reg battery a few days back (Excide from Rural King) and will probably go with a lithium this fall, I've had the motor out for a couple years doing the starter clutch and wanta be sure all is right before dropping the cash..... Baldy, Zukdave and a few others are running a lithium with no problems... might and should update the R/R but not sure if I will.....did alot of searching and almost went agm but like the light weight of lithium.

The Battery Tender mid size lithium looks good for 110 bucks to me.... 240 cca and 14 amps.... lotta good reviews too. My old Yuasa says USA on it but some do and some not on Ebay.

I've been running a Shorai Lithium in my '82 for over a year now and about 10k miles. No issues whatsoever. The only upgrading I did was to make sure my electrical system was cleaned up and I replaced the solenoid as it was going bad. It works perfectly with no issues.

A Lithium Ion battery has so much power that you can drive with the starter motor.
I had a Lithium Ion battery in my Z1B 900 project bike and in my Hayabusa, i will never going back to "prehistoric batteries"
