Can someone tell me what the impedance per foot is for Accel silicone plus graphite RFI suppression 8.8 mm plugs ? Thanks.

That should have been plug wires.

Thanks for the reply. All of mine are measuring from 14 to 17 K ohms.

Any reason why my wires measurement is so high ?

It is simple to correct errors or add/delete information if you get to it in time. If the "EDIT" option is noted at the lower right corner of your post, simply click on it and go. :)

Have you removed the wires from the coils before measuring? If there is that much resistance from just the wires I'd suspect some bad crimps.

Although we could argue the coil has impedance, I think plug wires are measured in resistance.

I do have the wires removed from the bike. I'll check the crimps and most likely redo all of the wires. Thanks for the replies.

Suppression core plug wires are known to have a more frequent failure rate and a shorter life-span than do solid wire core plug wires.

Could consider tossing the existing "old" resistance plug wires, and install new solid copper core plug wires.
www.z1enterprises.com/catalogsearch/result/?cat=&q=plug+wires

The copper core Dyna spark plug wires are non-resistant with a non-resistor cap.

The advantage of new plug wires is not having to worry about leakage of high tension voltage through old hard cracked insulation often present with old plug wires..

Factory KZ's came with solid core plug wires and non-R (i.e., non-resistance spark plugs such as NGKB8ES), together with a resistor cap.

One and only one resistance component may be used in the secondary loop (i.e., cap OR wire OR plug).
More than one resistor component is too much resistance, which weakens spark.

Actually don't need any resistance component in the secondary loop, which many owners achieve by fitting non-resistor caps to the stock wires and keeping the same stock non-R plugs.

Running without a resistance component in the secondary loop is expected to cause radio interference (if that matters).

Good Fortune! :)

I've ran solid copper core wires, with nr caps and plugs since the beginning.... thinking I'm on my 4th set.

Thanks for the information. Would the Dyna 7mm (P/N DYDW300) copper core wires be a good choice when running the Accel 3 ohm coils ?
