speedo-tac

Since my speedo-tac went south Ive looked at Acewell and Motogadget motoscope, The Acewell looks to be the most practical to hook up but Im concerned with durability. and wondering about the speedo hookup and being waterproof. On the other hand the motoscope and read sensor and removing the front wheel gear set as it wont be needed. Has anyone any input to this? I currently have gauges from my project bike with 17K mi. and work perfectly but Im thinking long term,and dont to put up with replacing replacements.
