Hey guys I apologize if this is already a topic somewhere else, maybe you can direct me to it if so.
I just bought a 1978 kz400B and I'm doing a little scrambler build with it but its my first time!
My question is what do you normally do about the electrical system? Use the old coil, generator, rectifiers etc? The spark plug leads crumbled off in my hands and they are hard wired into the ancient porcelain coils so I'm going to have to replace something anyway.
I'd heard rumors about some kind of more modern system you can put in that eliminated the battery and a lot of components, but I have the model with electric start (and kick isn't engaging) so not sure what options I have.
Advice would be awesome! Thanks

it's a touch spendy but on these old bikes a lil money spent now makes for miles of smiles down the road.

motogadget m-unit at least and then add what you want for switches.
i like the posh factory switches for the low profile and are fairly affordable.
