Electronic Ignition Change over Coil Question

I want to know if my current working Coils(points/cond) Which I believe are 3 ohm on my 98 KZ1000 will work on my new Electronic Ignition(DynaS(DS2-1) it suggests a 3ohm coil just their brand..

They will work. I've been running the Dyna three years. I got their coils last year.

The Dyna S requires coils with a minimum of 3 ohms resistance, so if you have 3 ohm coils you should be good to go.

A 1998 KZ1000 came with points and condenser?

It should have had the factory electronic ignition, I think with mechanical advancer. Those coils would have been about 2.3 ohms, and are not recommended for use with the Dyna S.

Maybe someone converted it back to points. But did they put in the factory 4 ohm coils, which is what points systems normally came with. 4 ohm coils, as long as they are in good shape, should work fine with the Dyna S.

Either way, you need to confirm the coil's resistance to know what you have.

That's right, you could fry the Dyna.
