Wiring identification 83 Z750 P was created by 2wheels
Hi all,
I've been working on a mate's 83 Z750 shaft drive bike recently and I'm starting to get to the point of tearing my hair out trying to figure out where the plug for one of the white/red wires which comes off the starter solenoid goes to.
Here's a photo of the rogue connector:
The battery end of the lead that connects to the starter solenoid had another white/red wire that splits into 2 after a connector and has a couple of inline fuses, this appears to look pretty good. I can't seem to find a home for this other one.
The bike doesn't seem to want to fire, and I'm kind of thinking that this could be a contributing factor.
If anyone could steer me in the right direction or post a photo that shows what one should look like that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Darryl

KZr's FILEBASE includes 3 pages of listings with various downloadable wiring diagrams for Kawasaki 750 fours.
Here are direct links for two examples.
The P3 diagram appears to show no connection for the second red/white wire in question.

Additional downloadable wiring diagrams for various 750 models are shown on page 1 and page 3. The availability of additional pages after page 1 are sometimes overlooked by viewers when researching the FILEBASE.

I'd check your interlock: side stand, nuetral and clutch must be in to start...these usually get disconnected.
Red/white is battery main, sometimes there is a spare for accessories.
Are you getting 12V power to the coils? does the tahco needle twitch when you turn ignition on?
