KZ1000 key code location

I really need to find the location of the key code on a Kawasaki KZ1000, what general locations would it be on the bike? I've heard it's in different places on the new bikes as opposed to the vintage KZ's

This came up the other day. I found the code stamped into my seatlock barrel. Very small and hard to see I had to give it a good clean and get No.1 Son to read it as my eyes are too old.
