KZ250 rotor was created by Ratzki
Can anyone confirm a replacement part for a 1980 KZ250 rotor? There do not seem to be any available other than one from wherever for several hundred dollars. Will a rotor from a KX250 work? Are any of the other KZ's running on the same size rotor?
On the other hand, if anyone has one available, more than willing to order it up!
Thanks

From the generator-regulator diagram at Partzilla, the 80-83 KZ250s & 82-85 KLT250s have the same rotor, but you should double check beforehand. There's a nos part listed on eebbaayy, but it's pricy & ships out of Thailand.
I have no idea if a different part could be used. The KLT200 has the same stator & etc, but the rotor has a different part number. there are several listed on eebbaayy. this is one of those cases in which the old kawasaki diagrams would come in handy. doh.

??? The 1980 KZ250 did not have a front rotor; that model, like all KZ250 models, cam e with a drum brake up front (see diagram below). If your bike has a front disk that is rough you may want to have it resurfaced. The folks at www.truedisk.net can resurface it the correct way. Ed

I was wondering if he meant the brake rotor too, but the topic is in the electrical section,
so I guess he's looking for the generator rotor. ???

Yeah, generator rotor. I found the one from Thailand- that's worth more than the bike as far as I know.

I would investigate the KLT200 part. It may be that the 250 part number supersedes the old one & the earlier rotor may work fine. maybe not, though. The end of the crankshaft could be different, so the earlier part may not physically fit. Also, I don't know enough about motorcycle electrics to say either way. As noted above, the other charging system stuff is the same, so it might work (stator, reg-rec, etc). My 81 650 has the exact same charging system as many of the 750-4s.
