Trying to find replacement pickup coils for a 1981 Kz750E. Not having much luck finding any. Anyone know where i should be looking for some? Can i replace them with another year or even manufacturer? any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can use one from any year or size Kz as long as the pickup is the same type, that is, it should basically look exactly the same (or mirror image with different color wires). You can swap the left and right pickups as well (you'll just mount it upside down and have to extend the wires).
Yellow swaps with black.
Red swaps with blue.
The actual pickups can swap, or you can swap the pickup frame from one timing plate to another.
Pay attention to the screws. Some are brass and some are steel. Don't mix them up.
Also, don't mix up the magnets.
Here's some details on how to set them up in case you get things mixed up:

Any kz 650 1981 - 83 or any 750/4 1980 to83 uses the same part
A quick ebay search (search kawasaki KZ pulse pulsing coil) shows there are a couple on ebay at the moment from 87 kz1000 police bikes.
The pickup coils look identical to mine but the backing plates are different. Should be easy to swap just the pickup coils or frame.
Alternative would be a Dyna electronic ignition from one of the dealers but I believe the original KZ system is a good one
