No Spark

Hi all, having trouble diagnosing a no spark situation with a 1982 kawasaki kz250. Initially the ignition module was suspect (as I got the bike with pieces either in question or missing ). Original ignition module appeared to be compromised due to circuit board crack so I got a (presumaby) working unit online from an ebay seller. I installed it and found no spark when cranking, I have voltage at both terminals of ignition coil, as well as at red and yellow wire on ignition module. Tried shorting out coil wire to ground to get spark nothing. Not exactly sure where to go from here. I also have to bypass starter solenoid to crank engine by shorting across solenoid terminals. Not sure about ay other component hat works in conjunction with the ignition module in order to create the inductive current in he coil?
Suggestions welcome.

Have you checked all the ground connections?

Not yet but I'll check that. Have voltage at both sides of coil, as well as at red and yellow wire from the ignition module?
