New coil - weak spark was created by Stocky
Hi guys, I've recently rebuilt my engine and replaced a lot of parts etc including coil , plugs ,leads , battery , and points.
I'm trying to start her for the first time but having no joy. She turns over ok . I'm getting 12.7 v on the battery. The spark seems weak - a small thin blue spark. What should I be checking ? I have a cheap ohm meter but not sure how to use it.
I'm thinking there's a weak link somewhere.

More detail would be helpful, such as:
Measured voltage being received at the coil primary terminal?
Does ohms rating of new coils match stock?
Specifics about new spark plugs?
Specifics about the new leads (metal core or resistor style)?
Details about the plug caps?
Coil mount issue (possible short?)
If not already done, would assure quality of ground connection where the negative battery cable attaches to rear of engine.
And assure snug clean connection of cables onto battery terminal posts.
Good Fortune!
