Indicators and beeper was created by H-Bomb
Hey All,

I am a recent first time owner of a KZ750, bought as a project to restore.

My indicators were not flashing so I recently replaced the relay and now they are flashing but all of a sudden a beeping noise has arrived when indicators are on - also I must have a grounding issue somewhere because they all come on rather than just the left or right.

Having looked at the manual and tried to read up a little I cant find much info on the beeper - is that just standard to the model and requires disconnecting (assuming others find it as annoying as I do)?

Thanks!

Beeper?

Please add the year and model of your motorcycle to your signature line. You may not be aware of it, but Kawasaki made MANY KZ750 models from 1976 through 1984. Some had 2 cylinder engines; some had 4 cylinder engines; and they included cruiser, standard, GPz models, etc. So the specific components on your KZ750 will depend on which year and model you have. From the looks of your avatar it appears to be a KZ750 twin. I don't have enough experience with them to be able to tell what year but I do know that the 750 twins and the KZ 400s had a lot in common. Some of the KZ400s, not sure what years specifically but I know that my 76 KZ400 D did, came with a turn signal buzzer/alarm. On the KZ400 it is located somewhere around the triples, behind the headlight if I remember correctly. I would guess that it would be in about the same place on the 750. On the 400 it has an orange and a brown wire going to it. You can check the wiring diagram for your model to see if it came with a turn signal alarm and what color wires lead to it. If you're not a fan of the alarm you can simply disconnect the wires and remove the alarm. Make sure to cap off the end of the wires so the loose wires don't cause a short.

I had one. When it got wet it made a pathetic sound, kinda gurgling. I took it back off. It didn't come on the Z1, being I was using a modified KZ 900 loom, I thought I'd try it. STUPID

The turn signal beeper came standard on many models, It's to help you to remember to turn the signal off after you've made you're turn

I like the idea of a turn signal bleeper. I did try it using a car/truck buzzer but it was far too quiet.

1980 Gpz550 D1, 1981 GPz550 D1. 1982 GPz750R1. 1983 z1000R R2. all four aces
