well i just bought my first kz 1000, this is gonna be fun..

Not sure what you mean by "can't keep up with itself". Is the needle jumpy? If so, you probably have a dry or broken speedo cable.

There are plenty of cheepo LCD speedo/tach/oil pressure/fuel gauge/whatever things on ebay, but I doubt you'll find any of them as useful as the stock speedo is (in working order anyway)

A couple of folks around here are using Acewell guages and seem well pleased with them.

ive been yet to install my new gauge, its a koso, all in one type... digital tach, speedo, clocks, fuel, neutral light, turn sigs indicators ect ect, it wasnt super cheap, $150 shipped, but its tiny(2.75" diameter) and seems to be of good quality...

that acewell is pretty cool, tried googling up gauge clusters nothing really came up. saw that koso however it may work but im even thinking more of a gps speedometer and a autometer tach but that leaves me question of making mounts and a fuel gauge not really worth the effort but who knows i have all winter to build lol

Your going to like the Koso, I too installed one and am very happy with it. Also installed a Trail Tech Vapor on my KZ650, really like that one too.
