KZ250M

Hi all, seems this bike is a rare one, especially when it comes to finding parts.
I'm looking for a reasonably priced CDI module, and am finding there are a few retrofits available as wel. as some substitute parts that will work.
Just need more information on this.
Also seems obtaining an affordable synchronous drive belt is challenginger too. Mine is still good but want to find sources for available for a spare. Also attempting to source for used parts such as key switch, key blanks. Mine currently has no key and key switch is damaged, along with gas tank key lock.
Hope to repair or replace these.

I've never even heard of a KZ250M. A google search does come up with some results - but most seem to be from 2 different sales.
I have a KZ250W - belt drive, electronic ignition module. I wouldn't be surprised if the 'M' model is the same as the 'W' model - with an upside down 'W'
I was looking for drive belts a while ago - they are NLA. Part number is 59011-1011 (or 59011-1004 I have read), it will be a 125 tooth belt. You can get some NOS ones on ebay and other stores, and even some second hand ones, but they're not cheap. I ended up converting to chain - my belt wasn't long for this world. If yours is still good, just keep going with it - belts do last a long time. I think mine might have been original.
Generally speaking, most mechanical parts that fit other KZ250 single models will fit any other KZ250 single. Most of the running gear is the same, most of the changes are body, forks, suspension etc. I have been using Partzilla to find part numbers.
My gas tank key is a blank - the tank opens with a blank
Ignition barrels do show up on ebay every now and then, and most key cutters will have blanks that work for the ignition barrel if you need more cut.

Hi, thanks for the reply, not exactly sure where I got the M from but when I find out I'll let you know.
As far as the CDI module I seek I found the pin connecter wiring for an 83 in the files section here so I have hat at least to hopefully configure something that may work once I find somehing suitable.
Currently I'm without the carburetor that came with the bike someone removed it but I'm promised it so...
Basically all I need is he CDI module, a signal aassembly, a battery and then I can attempt to fire this machine up to see how it'll run. It only has 39000km on odometer and appears that it's been stored inside. Hey ignition key rit now can be turned with screwdriver so I' m guess I'll need a lock cylinder in he near future, as well as a key cut for the lockable seat, and helmet holder. Tires look still good and basically no oxidation on aluminum, but the top of the tank is a little rusty requiring some tlc.
Belt appears to look ok too. only two small tears in vinyl seat too. oh and I'm needed the grab rail that goes behind the seat.

I guess another question about the kawasaki kz250 cdi module is; is it triggered by an AC, or DC current.?
