starting issue
03 Aug 2015 15:00
im having a issue starting my bike. my starter relay is just buzzing like ive never heard before when i hit the start button. and when i try to jump the relay to the starter, the starter wont crank. im throwing a new relay on it tonight but the fact i cant jump the starter weirds me out. i just rebuilt the starter so i cant see there being a problem there and just rebuilt the starter clutch, if anyone has any suggestions let me know thanks.

If the new relay doesn't fix it try turning the engine over using a wrench on the crankshaft or try jump starting the bike just to see if the engine will turn over. Doing either of those things should tell you if the engine is seized. Ed

Ya I don't suspect the engine being seized. If I jump the starter nothing happens so I suspect that is it. There's nothin really left in the system. Should I be able to turn the starter gear by hand easily?

Try looking at it in reverse, jump the battery -ve to motor ground point, the other half of the equation.
Maybe try jumping from a car battery to eliminate the battery cranking voltage question.
If the above two don't fix it, and your engine turns freely I think it can only be your starter motor.
i just rebuilt the starter so i cant see there being a problem
Crank with your headlights on and see if they are dimming, or get a meter across the battery to see if you are getting current to the starter.
