Horn was created by harm
After getting run off the road onto the shoulder the other day i was thinking i should get a loud horn. The stock horn on my 550 is not currently working because of a ground issue but even if it was its almost useless. Are there any good aftermarket horns out there or should i just find one on ebay?
Thanks,
Thanks,
Tom

I have two Flamm horns on my bike. High/low. The horn button goes through the horn, then to ground. A horn won't stop these pricks from crowding you. Might piss them off and try to kill you. I ether get ahead of or let them pass.

Thanks, are they quite a bit louder than stock?
Yeah, I was passing and he came right over on me. I dont ride next to cagers. Like you said, let them go or get around them.

Much louder. Sounds like a vintage car. I would like to find one that sounds like a big rig. People don't pay attention to bikes and the horns are wimpy. When I bought Bossie in 75, the head lines read, "Kawasaki Z1 T bones a Jaguar at 80 MPH. Three people dead. The rider and two in the car." The bike went in the driver's side and out the passenger side. The bike had the right of way.
Be careful.

I did away with the stock horn. I installed a relay for the two horns. The little button can't handle two.

I agree; I believe the new horn (or 2 in your case) would stress out the original horn button circuit. That's why I only added the relay control circuit to the stock horn / button circuit. The relay control circuit adds only a miniscule load to the horn / button circuit, but that relay then allows the Fiamm horn to connect directly to the battery though a separate circuit and get full power. My other reply at www.kzrider.com/forum/2-engine/598462-horn#675382 includes a diagram of the horn wiring. Ed

I saw that. Good job. I'm going to install a relay for all my running lights and go LED.
