Hello, Absolutely my first post ever. Two questions
1. Can I remove the starter on my kz440d (82) without removing the carbs?
B. Will those stater rebuilt kits sold everywhere work?

Welcome aboard? Do yourself a HUGE favor and get a Kawasaki Service Manual. They are worth their weight in gold, and no one has ever regretted buying one. They usually are available on eBay; be sure to get the one for your bike's exact year and model as there are differences. In the meantime, you may find the info in the link below helpful.
What makes you believe you need to rebuild the stator? Have you run the diagnostic tests to identify a specific problem? I would do that before deciding on what to buy, because if your bike's charging system is not working properly it can be, and usually is, something other than the stator. Ed
