I'm having one of those issues......wiring :S

I'm so close to first startup after a year of rebuilding and modifying my '76 KZ900. I have a new wire harness because the old one was so butchered up there was no hope for it. I have a few wires that I'm not sure where they go or even if they needed, but I'm sure they are.
If you look at the photos, there are 2 wires coming out of the harness around the area of the coils under the tank. One is a sky blue with a white stripe and red slashes and a blue with red slashes. I can't figure out where they go. I have a Haynes manual and a Clymer manual and both wiring diagrams are like trying to follow a trail of spaghetti.
The other photo shows 3 wires, red, pink and brown that is on the same small pig tail at the rear brake light switch.
The other photo is a view of the bike in it's final stage of assembly.
Again, thanks in advance for your help. This forum is one of the best for getting correct answers. Much appreciated :cheer:

Steve

Some wiring in the harness of many bikes is not used in/for every model but the basic harness is.

I don't know when Kawasaki started to supply extra circuits for electrically warmed grips or vests. If possible, trace back where these unknown wires originate. Or with the battery hooked up(and the mystery wires isolated from the frame), start the engine, and with a multimeter set on VDC (Volts, Direct Current), range of 20, place the RED probe on the wires. with the BLACK probe on either the frame, or the battery Negative terminal.

Do you have pics of the regulator and wires. Brown and pink go to them as I remember.

Here's the picture Steve, ok so the regulator has 3 wires 2red and 1green. If you look to the left of the picture you will see a brown wire, a black/yellow wire and a blue wire. What gets connected to what??
