speedo, tacho and ignition swap

Are there any of the round speedo, tacho and ignition sets that fits straight on (or close to) a KZ700A1 electrical harness? Like from a 79 750 B4 maybe?

I'm assuming you want to swap the entire meter assembly.
It's doubtful that anything will be a direct plug n play.

I'm pretty sure your bike has an electronic tachometer & it has a fuel level gauge in the tank, so I'll suggest the meter set from a later Kawasaki Police bike --- for example the 1990 P9 or 2000 P19. Those won't be a direct plug-in, but they have an electronic tach & a fuel meter at the gauges. However, I'm not sure the speedo spins at the correct rate or if the tach operates the same. just a suggestion.

Earlier kz had a mechanical cable driven tacho, maybe instead look for some zephyr chrome 'bee hive' clocks, which have an electronic tacho. You will need to alter your wiring connectors etc.

I see. How do I figure out if an electric metre works with my bike? Any numbers like the ratio on a mechanical speedo? :blush:

Which ratio does the KZ700 speedo have? 1.4?
