Ignition base plate

Hi! everyone I just got a second hand ignition base plate from the state so I try to take off the broken one, took all the
screws and everything else but won't move so please is anyone know how to remove this base plate thank you Regards Robert Ps rebuild of Kawasaki Z 1000 ST 1979 PS getting lots work on it done lately as I have more time at the moment need to buy new brakes line ... costly then all new fluid ,oil, brakes fluid and new battery Hey! members just make sure when you give your bike to repair the mechanic his is a real mechanic because I fail for itand now lots work and pain yeah the bastard painted over all the nuts and bolts with rust with silver paint

The points cover comes off first then remove the points plate then remove the ignition advancer then remove all the screws that hold on the cover then simply remove it. Sometimes the old gasket can be a pain and won't let go. Hit the cover with a rubber hammer it will come right off.

Thanks' Baldy still won't come off ,question what about the two bolts underneath .. on the bloc motor maybe they are the one holding the base please let me know thank you Robert

Are the screw heads now damaged? Typically, the best way to remove stuck fasteners is to apply a good penetrant beforehand, give it time to work, then use an impact driver to extract the screws. Make sure the tool fits the screw head properly.

Thank you very much Kz members I did fellow your advise but I came with a genius idea please look at the attachment picture ,I had I piece of wood in witch I cut out a circle to make a round base for my wife too be an music instrument holder so I had the left over so with this semi round shape I was able with the rubber hammer gently nock the the ignition base plate , so basically with the wooden round shape by nocking the all around the impact of the hammer was going further around and not in one spot I hope you understand what I'm saying again thank you very much for your help ,Ps I like to go to a mechanic course just for the basic and electrical as love fixing this bike and maybe I'll get another one after okay regards Robert
