Koloj:
Are you talking about the ignition timing? Or in other words - what is seen with a flashing timing light when looking at the right lower ignition plate where either ignition points or electronic pulse is picked up? If so, then look through the hole and you will see - starting from the left - a T; then a mark, which is for Top Dead Center for piston #1 or 4. Next is the F; and to its right is another mark. THIS MARK IS WHERE THE #1 CYLINDER SHOULD FIRE - SHOULD BE ADJUSTED AT A SLOW IDLE.
the timing light should flash there. As the engine speeds up - the timing should advance until fully advanced reaching the two marks on the far right. This full advance should be reached by about 3,000 to 3,400 RPM.

NOW IN ORDER TO ADJUST THE TIMING - YOU LOOSEN 3 SCREWS THAT HOLD THE IGNITION PLATE SECURE. WHEN THE PLATE IS ROTATED THE TIMING IS ADJUSTED. There are slots that only allow a limited amount of adjustment. No need to do anything to the camshafts, etc.
