Anybody know why this switch is herer? Is it to bypass the headlamp for easier starts?
And where do I connect the wires ?

Somebody added it, so you'll have to figure it out.
A headlight switch seems like as good a guess as any. :)

Yep, the wiring's not to Kawasaki specs. The Red bullet connector's a sure sign, along with the "Redneck" switch.

Ok, it was hooked up before I tore apart the wiring harness and didn't think to take pictures like I normally do to help remember how it went back together. I'm guessing to put it in line on the driving light power red/yellow or maybe not hook it up at all!

Maybe at some point in the bikes life somebody had extra lights on it??? I wouldn't hook it up, as I can't see any reason to shut the headlight off from more than one place.
Mine:
04 Honda rebel 250(wifes)
04 GSXR 750(bolt on galore)
98 CBR 600F3(filter, pipe, adjustable cam sprokets, dyno tune)
76 KZ900A (LTD gauge pods, crash bars, LTD(style)pipes, dyna coils and ignition, headwork and mild port cleanup by cavanaugh racing, K&N filter pods, heck I dunno.

Many models don't have a headlight switch, so the headlight is always on when the ignition switch is ON. If that's what the toggle is for, one reason for turning off the headlight would be for better starting & there could be a couple of reasons why, such as poor starting or someone installed a capacitor in place of the battery. If the latter, he would need the switch, or if the former, that would be a band aid approach, instead of figuring out why a bike won't easily start.

My bike has only a toggle for high and low beam, no "off "

Does your left handlebar switch housing have a Hi-Lo headlight switch?
