Turn signal question
21 Aug 2014 12:05
Hey everyone.
While I was riding to work today I noticed the turn signal was blinking very slowly when I was stopped at a light. I got off the bike to see the front and saw that when the turn signal blinked the headlight and my neutral indicator would dim. While the rpms are higher, everything works like normal. Any ideas on what might be happening?

I would guess weak battery. At idle, the bike runs off the battery because the alternator output is too low, when you rev up the alternator runs everything.

Also while checking the Battery, check the ground wire from the battery to the frame or engine, which ever the case may be on your bike, & make sure it's tight, & free of rust or corrosion

If you replace your turn signal relay with an electronic one you will not have that problem again. The electronic relay flashes at a regular interval even if the battery charge is a little low. I installed a Tridon/Stant 552 2 prong flasher relay. It was a direct replacement and even fit in the relay holder just like the original. Auto parts stores and Amazon carry it, and it is not expensive (about $7). Ed.
