speedometer input needed

hay guys i recently bought my first 78 kz650 d1a. theres a bunch of things missing that i need to put on the bike so i wont get hassled by cops. so as of now i need a speedometer. but my question is what do i need other then the speedo? i would assume that i need a cable as well but where would it attach to? your help would be greatly appreciated. it also doesnt have a tech

No offense intended but you REALLY NEED TO BUY A MANUAL. You absolutely need it, so why not just bite the bullet and buy one? :blink: You can believe me when I say no one has ever regretted getting one. There should be a speedometer drive gearbox assy at the front wheel --- it's basically two parts: the speedo drive & receiver. Get that stuff plus a speedometer & cable. The diagrams at Kawasaki.com or Partzilla are handy.
