I have a 79 kz 400 ltd (kz 400 H 1) which ran great up until recently. It died on me after I rode a few miles. I found that it was not charging with the engine running. I replaced the battery but it happened again.
The generator puts out 75 volts AC at 4000 rpm. Therefore I figured it was the regulator. I replaced that and it still does not charge. I have checked all the connections and they seem good.
What am I missing? What else should I check? Thanks.
How old is current battery? My cousin had the same bike as yours and experienced the same issue you have. He just bought a new batt from
4wheelonline
and after installing it, bike started and worked normal again.
