2000 KZ1000P turn signals

The turn signals and even the auto cancel worked fine before.

Started it up this morning and no turn signals.

After figuring out how to unlock the seat and swing it up on the hinge checked the fuses, all fuses OK.

There are round units on each side under the side covers that look like they could be the actual flasher units.

The turn signal switch feels like it is OK and stays in position so the auto cancel solenoid does not seem to be stuck or causing a problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

edit: I just bought another flasher unit and tried it on both sides. Still no turn signals.

could be bad ground somewhere. Is it all 4 turn signals?

Does the flasher click?

Thanks for the response. The flasher did not click. I don't recall for sure but I think all four blinker lights went on with the headlights. Nothing for turn signals.

With the key on and the turn signal switch on and tinkering with the rocker switch and since the bright sun is no longer shining down I saw a very slight glimmer in the left front turn signal for just an instant.
I kept flipping the rocker switch a couple hundred times and got the turn signal to work with the rocker switch in the position marked OFF. That must be the 4-way switch. The contacts must have been corroded and it took a lot of clicking to get a circuit going through.

I had a similar problem with the micro switch for the kick stand after the previous owner had left and I was ready to head back from Carlsbad CA. whenever the clutch was just started to be released the engine would quit without any drag or whatever rpm. I kicked the stand back and forward many time before I could head back. The bike may have been left outside as the previous owner had bought a BMW.

I will tinker with the 4-way lights some other day, I have had much more stress than needed today.

Now the turn signals are working again.

No expert, here...But it sounds to me like it might be a good idea to open up the TS switch housing and "de-oxit" clean it. Defintely won't hurt!

Thanks I will clean all the contacts and connections I can. I will get a cover to help keep the moisture and condensation out
