Wiring Harness
14 Jul 2014 07:58
When I bought my 79 KZ650D, the wiring harness had been pulled off the bike for repairs. Now that I've finished what repairs were started, I am having difficulty figuring out how the wiring harness is run through the bike frame. Does anyone have any pictures that could help me out with this? I do not want to have to worry about my wires becoming damaged from having them in the wrong place.

Thank you for that, do you have any pictures around the air box to the brake, points, fuse box, and tail section? And for the cluster going into the handlebars that connect to the harness in those pictures?

On the early bikes like mine the handlebar control wiring ran through the bars (see 1st pic), but I believe later KZ650 models were different. Below that image is a shot of the left side electrics on my bike and below that the right side electrics. I believe your later model will not be exactly the same. Ed

Ed what is that on the fuse side that looks like a flasher relay? Is that a 4 way flasher module?
Take it from me cuz I found

When yours, it could have been.

Yes, the KZ650-C1 had 4-way hazard flashers. For some reason the KZ650-B models didn't get them until the 1978 KZ650-B2. Ed
